The CSCA Hamilton Local Chapter is pleased to be hosting its first annual Faculty/Student Reception to start off the fall term at McMaster University. CSCA President Jim Peterson will be facilitating the event and we expect a large number of faculty and students to attend.
The Lower Dining Room of the University Club will provide an informal setting for students to meet Christian faculty working in the sciences and share experiences around the challenges and opportunities for Christians who see a calling in science. The setting will be relaxed with a nice selection of refreshments. We would also plan to provide students with information about resources that can assist them in their studies and vocation as Christians working in the sciences.
We would like to encourage everyone attending to read the article, found here, by Andy Crouch entitled “What I wish my Pastor Knew about the Life of a Scientist”. We are planning to have a number of the faculty members share their own experiences in the context of this article.
For more information please check in on our website and Facebook page over the summer.
We look forward to seeing you on the 27th of September! (4:15-6:00pm in the West Room of the University Club)
On behalf of the CSCA,
Don McNally,
CSCA Executive Director
