Back to the Very Beginning: Probing Cosmic Origins

FREE PUBLIC LECTURE 9:25 AM – 10:40 AM
Johnson Hall, Fosmark Building, Trinity Western University
7600 Glover Road, Langley

Dr. Barth Netterfield, who is the leading cosmologist in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto, is a devoted Christian for whom the study of the stars and distant galaxies increases his awe and wonder at the majesty of the Creator. Not long ago, he travelled to the Antarctic, where he and his research team launched a balloon-borne set of telescopes. This was part of the SPIDER project that is designed to peer into the furthest reaches of the universe from above earth’s atmosphere (read about it in the UofT Magazine and watch this clip of the launch).

Dr. Netterfield will talk about his current research, share his personal story, and entertain questions from the audience.
